Frank Shamrock Vs Dan Henderson (The Contender 1997)

This was 1997. Almost everyone fighting at the time were still specialists that really only trained in one fighting style. There were very few people that were trying to blend the strengths of various styles into one cohesive well rounded approach. And most fighters that had their roots in different styles were still under the delusion that submission techniques were gimmicks that all had easily mastered counters. This was still the tail end of the age where pretty much everyone had an undying loyalty to whatever style they came up in and an irrational belief that their superior style would win out regardless of what you tried to do because your style was inferior.
