The Association - Never My Love (1967)

There don't write music like this anymore.
I think the guitarist is a Filipino
I was 1 yo when this came out. Memories of me and my girl driving down the highway in my stroller.
64Yr old conservative manly man Christian with tears for what this country used to be-cherish windy never my love-lost
Larry Ramos a filipino origin?
One of the first songs I liked as a ten year old

What a love song.
This song is MAJICAL...
A love song doesn't get any better than that.
According to BMI, 'Never my Love' was the second most played song on American Radio and TV in the 20th Century. Phil Spector produced the most played in the 20th Century: "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin".
I wonder where the microphones were?
I wasn't even born yet, But if I had to make a educated guess.I bet they Didn't want to reveal, That the lead guitar Was lead vocals.

The older I get, the more I appreciate this band. At the time they came out, I was more into hard rock and psycodellic* music. But as I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate this band a lot. They were pretty damn good. It's a pity about the bass player, he died supposedly from a heroin overdose.(sad) P.S I don't have a dictionary with me, which is why I mispelled Psyxxxxx! Sorry about that!
Filipino from Kauai the guitarist
Đây là bản nhạc mà tôi thích nhất thap nien 70. Phuong duy Huynh
I was a kid when this song came out but my mom loved it. 51 years later and I still know all the words. How many singers today will be able to say that about their songs?
I love my husband so much. God blessed with my sweet Man! I think God every day for him! Thank you, God! atl girl! 🐶🍑🌷
Hamilton Aro Pereira kids don’t know better.
Check out Rick Beato's videos. He's a record producer, song writer, etc., who really goes into the details of it. Bottom line, it's so expensive to produce records now that the production company's won't take a chance on anything that doesn't fit a set, standard formula. They aren't looking for "artists", but someone who they can package to fit that formula. WOW! Check out the NY Times from 8/9/2018. They have a major analytical article EXACTLY about this.
I was 16yrs old when I first heard this in a juke box....then heard it more during dances.Loved & love it still.Tnx for posting...you sent me flying back in time.
Another timeless song!
And then Music slowly regressed...
DOWN MEMORY LANE 💞♥️💕😍😘😍👍
One of my favorite songs as a small child. Sounds just like the music they create today. NOTE!!
Songs four years older than I but still awesome
Beautiful music.

I grew with music and loved it ! Never thinking they're real nerds ...excuse me !
Looks better on vinyl.
Larry Ramos from Hawaii, was a very good singer and guitarist.
In our city pool they played this song on the jukebox along with Tommy James and the Shondells and countless others in the 60's during the summers. Great stuff and great memories.
Sooooo coooollll...how aweet.
Ahhh, the memories😀😀😀
That really was when America was great!!!
Wow. All my life listening to this song. Didn't know they had an Asian dude in the group!

BornSerious: I know what you mean ! Even...this is America, Asia, Russia......in some other parts of the world, they would be not left inside !
Damn good times!!! My 💕Philly, I hope never again...I 💕Love you, your one and only Lori xxxooo💞💖💞
This New Group "The Association" has what it takes to "make it big..." Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.
1967. About the last time Pop/Rock groups wore matching suits.
Never my love was a great song
This will always be a beautiful love song. Classic.
I believed that these Guy's all met in College & formed this Group! Every song they recorded was a huge hit for them!
The 60s were the best decade for music, hands down.
fantastic song, not heard it for about 50 years, when i was a teen.
Sigh. The days when the audience would actually sit to listen at a concert. I love it. 😊🎶
This song came out just before I shipped out to Nam, never forgot it.
I was 13 when this song never Mr love came out. Oh the memory of teenage life
These guys were something else!
Waaaaaayyyyy b4 my time, but i definitely love this song.. Now this is real music
Some thing just keep getting better
i was 3 years old then
Didn't know Benedict Cumberbatch was their drummer.
When LSD was legal...
I remember this song in the early 70s in our car driving around, my dad hated it and click, news radio 95 was ON!! Haa
Just saw them last weekend and yes, they performed this song. It was epic and wonderful and very moving. Dedicated to his very elderly mother. :)
I too miss the past. I still get goosebumps listening to this beautiful song. Thank you guys for such a great song.
Simply beautiful. What happened to those days?
The singer looks like a young Mr. Rodgers
Ladies were ladies and men were gentlemen - How I miss those days. The music of the era said it all.
🕊🕊➕🕊🕊 🙏🙏🙌🙏🙏 🌹🌹🔥🌹🌹 🔥👁➕👁🔥 ⚓⚓💜⚓⚓
These guys put the easy in easy listening.
Had the privilege of attending two of their concerts while in college, 1969-71! They were great!
Hell, 50 years since I heard this !!
One of the best groups ever for pure harmonies!!
for years thought it was the Beatles.
I was in Love with my son's mother, I had only hoped she'd Love me in return. (and my concern is now in vein)
I'm 70 years old and this is the first time I've seen a video of the Association doing this song that I've heard a million times! That's the beauty of You-tube! So interesting! : )
Yes such a beautiful song great music back then wish those days never had to go
Saw them recently. Still got it!
No music bands whatsoever in history have ever come close to The Association when it comes to vocal harmonies.
I think I watched them on the Hollywood Parade and they sang this great song. I might be wrong. Its been a long time already.
A really beautiful song! I remember it on the radio when i was little in the sixties!
I recently saw this group live and during this song I couldn't help but just be happy to be experiencing it with the love of my life, I don't know how many of the original members were still around to be there but I enjoyed it so much.
Brings me back....
wonderful song, one of the best ever. Uma das mais lindas canções de todos os tempos. E já fez 50 anos...
Very cool group with a lot of members! My wife was born when this song came out...The Summer of Love! Happy Birthday to my awesome wife:)
This is a beautiful love song, You really don't here them like this now.
Never My Love. My husband love this particular song by The Association very much. Pagtsagaan ko na lang daw sya sa kanyang mga kakulitan at kalokohan...forever pahabol pa nya. LoL
This song lifts my spirits up every time I hear it. It dont get any better than this !!
I was five, when this came out. I forgot how civilized things were compared to now
This was an awesome song. We are so lost now. I was born when you this was a hit.
I'm a sucker for some good organ solos.
Second most played song in the history of radio.
very nostalgic. one of the greatest and underrated bands during the golden era. wonderful song.
My grandmother would place pics in front of her video camera to music. This was one of the songs.
How would you describe this song? AWESOME, FASCINATING, OUT OF THIS WORLD?
Reminds me of when I was excited going into 7th grade!
I was totally born in the wrong generation smokes juul dabs immediately listens to ariana grande
when I was 10 loved it then, and still now.
Larry Ramos has a smiling face. I like it!
In 1967 our country produced musicians like The Association, today we produce Nicki Minaj. We are a society in decline.
Those were the days!
Larry Ramos the guitarist has a beautiful smile and an easy going poise so typical of a talented filipino ! 😊
"...my whole world depends on you" is not a quote I'd tell any human; I can only tell that to the Lord.
I'll be 51 in October I remember this music God its so beautiful to hear it.
What a nice song. Just saw them play last week at the OC fair with The Turtles.
Odd how I thought of home while listening to this in 1968 Vietnam and since it reminds me of all those we lost that year. Just a trigger....
I was 50 when this song first came out. It rocked then and it still rocks today.
One of the most beautiful love songs ever.
Never seen Russ Giguere on a guitar before. To bad the direction was so bad you did not get to see more of the band.
Thank you. I have never seen them perform. Love their sings. Windy.
I saw them in person, my Dad took me. Perfection. San Jose. Small bar area.
Saw them last night.they rocked. Almost made me cry they we're so beautiful. Yester and a guy who must be ramo's brother because he looked just like him and of course Larry died in 2014
Real music back then not the shit kids are force to hear today. You wonder why the down fall of the Us. Just listen what they are listening today.
AAHHHHHH! The personification of "cool" in the 9th degree. Peace Out!
I may not have got to grow up through this time but I grew up with it. I'm always playing them. Better than music now
This music is here forever. Cant get tired of this ...
Remember our culture was a lil different then, No bic lighters, clothes lasted fer years, ~~~Nuthin was open on Sundays. Things were slower, people took more time ta discern what was going on....mostly.
+stan hootz - did you ever watch the film "cars" by pixar? i highly recommend - it´s a sort of hommage to those old times, when the legendary route 66 was still used for cruising slowly, enjoying the ride rather then hasting towards a distant aim as fast as possible... i love how they turned the cars into "humans" while still showing all the old models exactly and lovingly how they looked like, incredible work... the second "cars" film is not as good, but i still love it, because in that one they also show the old european cars, ever so sweet... :-) i for one live at the edge of a small village in northern germany - i have a view across the fields from my kitchen window, sometimes big v-formations of wild geese and cranes fly by, many other birds fly around, the biggest one is the red kite - i take my time for doing things - many people don´t understand me for not hunting the big career - well, i deliberately renounced a long time ago, and i don´t regret that, i have a loving family, i have peaceful and decent neighhbours, i even have chickens, haha.... :-) in the evenings i like to sit in my garage which opens up from the the rear of the house onto the yard - i have a piano there and then i play and play and fly away in my dreams............... greetings from germany

What a great song from yesterday! I grew up listening to The Association and they recorded a lot of wonderful music. This song and the song, "WENDY" are my favorites from this group. I have a lot of their CD's now instead of the vinyl and the music still sounds great!

Met my husband that year, still very much in love and still our favorite song.

My goodness. 😝 like best song ever.

...cant help it.... I like the short one... 😋

Saudade da minha adolescência..!!

the Association did some good stuff

Just outstanding! :-)

AND....it was a GREAT slow dance tune!

The best era ever for pop music. I'm so glad I grew up with this awesome music. IMO, the majority of the stuff that has been produced from the 1980's on is pure crap.

Essa música e de maio de1966 eu tinha 13,5 anos tinha mudado de bairro. Ao escutar essa música do associechan. Fui na casa dela mas ela se mudou foi a segunda vez que me apaixonei

I LOVED THE ASSOCIATION, GREAT TIME IN MY LIFE, I WAS 14.

This is just about as good as music gets.

I was 22 yrs. old and a Spec.5 at Ft McPherson, Ga. when I heard this beautiful song. As time went by, it really grew on me.

Summer in the sixties was pure listening magic

Never heard of the group but recognise the song , very nice

Music will never ever ever never ever be as good as music in this time was...... I think I said that right.

This song came out 3 years before I was born ...I love this song so much that I feel I was born in the 60s..Just really great listening to music of this era..

I was -5 years old when this came out!!! Super Smooth song.

Unfortunately music would never be the same it's nice still listen and reminisce the good old days. Thank you youtubers for keeping it alive.

Sounds like"in my life"(Beatles)

Beautiful, classic hit song.

Such a delicately sweet and sensuous song! ♡

katie and verner billy knows an old scott turner pomponesset beach (hayzma)

Songs like this one make me happy I was born in 1967. Cool cars and great music ! 💗

Remember the summer that year 😎

One of my favorite songs music then was magical

Saw them play the Orange County fair about 1992. Not all original band as they had some long hair metal guitar player in the band playing this peace and love music. Not sure if the Hawaiian guy was in the band. Forgot.

1967 and the beach labor day weekend at emerald isle,nc

is this the first asian rock star?

Just sit back and enjoy this gem.

Old boy was playing that organ!! I love this song! When it came out in 1967 & NOW! Never will it grow OLD!💝

Dang I miss those days.

I was 16 and my girl friend sang this to me I will never forget

Always love this one!

Beautiful song!

You just can't beat these guys for the harmonies.
