"equal mental sparring partner"
Is this an insult or a compliment?

"I don’t think he’s ever going to lose."
This comment will likely not stand the test of time.

it hasn't yet
maybe MMA is waiting for its game-changer. This is what it looks like, up until they lose. It’s like watching someone pitch a perfect game, the longer it goes on, the bigger the challenge, the higher the stakes.

the mental game part is true
growing up in Dagestan, that’s absolutely survival of the fittest in the truest sense of the saying. Khabib has seen so much, and his religious faith is so strong, that some Irish clown running his mouth is a joke in itself to Khabib. I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t phase him not one bit. Infact I wouldn’t be surprised if khabib starts talking sht leading up to the fight and ends up gettin in Connors head instead. He’s already in Connors head cuz Connor sees an adversary who’s Fedor level stoic. Connor isn’t used to his trashtalk not throwing people off. That stings

I gave you a rec because I agree with most of what you say
I will say that nothing Conor said affected a 380 lbs Nathan Diaz though.

One of my favorite Nate moments was in the third round while he was getting his ass beat by RDA he still flipped him off and was slapping RDA in his face from his back.
He knew those slaps did no real damage. It was like he was saying "I know I lost this but fuck you." And you could see RDA get visibly pissed off.

reminds me of Bas Rutten in Pankrase
Frank Shamrock slapped him with a backhand and Bas laughed.

Kavanaugh actually said this ...
i don t remember if it was Conor vs Nate I or II .. Conor throws a spin kick, which was "absolutely not part of the gameplan". So JK is shouting at Conot "gameplan, Conor, gameplan" while they re clinching on the fence … and Nate turns around to JK and says "bitch, fuck you and your gameplan!" .. Jk was telling taht story having a laugh, it s somewhere in youtube.

Connor hasn't talked trash
He flew from Ireland and threw a dolly into a bus yes. But trash talk so far….not yet.

and i'm wondering if that is him looking for holes in the mental armor...

I have a feeling that Brazilians and people from Dagestan have different mindsets.
Almost like they’re separate cultures.
Brazilians definitely have a reputation for being emotional.
Brazilians definitely have a reputation for being emotional.
Great joy when they win to the point of years
Great anger when they’re wronged to the point of throwing boomerangs.
Great anger when they’re wronged to the point of throwing boomerangs.
Generalizing, but they’re different

Question.
In your calculation you mention the price of a payper view is 65$.
But I know if you are a bar and wants to show a event, it is far more
expensive. A friend of mine manage in Montreal and looked it up for the
last GSP fight, and it was I believe around 500$. How does that factor in?

Just a guess
but I believe that it depends on how many screens it is shown on in the bar. Each screen would be a separate purchase?

I think for bars it depends on patronage able to view it and the number of TVs they display the fight on
I could be wrong, but $500 sounds like peanuts, I could’ve sworn
most bars end up paying a lot more than that. Would be interesting to
see a full breakdown of viewership from all portals and even include
people who illegally streamed.

You are correct.
I think it mostly depends on the bar or restaurant’s capacity. I
know a guy who manages a really popular sports bar in Miami, and he’s
told me that they usually have to pay a few thousand dollars to show the
bigger fights. It’s definitely worth it because they make tons of money
for the bigger fights, and they also charge a cover sometimes to help
recoup some of the money that they had to pay in order to be able to
show the fights.

3+ hours of drinking / food
UFC events are pretty long and you can get about 3+ hours of people drinking and ordering food during that time.
