Japanese Zen garden ASMR / Meditation

" When I was really young, my neighbor had a Zen Garden in his backyard. I never understood what it was, what it was for, or why he would go outside and rake sand (his was sand not gravel) all the time even in poor weather conditions. I could always see it from my room, and always thought it was silly some 60 some year old man was playing in an oversized sandbox. (I was really little lol i didn't know what culture even was). Years later, I actually know what it really is and what it's for... a space for quiet, distraction-free thought. "
