Lou Corona's Lemon Ginger Blast

This obviously isn't possible.  The final kinetic & potential energy of that person can't exceed his initial energy---that would be like dropping a ball and having it bounce to a position higher than where it started.

Lemon Ginger Blast Ingredients:

1 lemon

2 apples

 Handful of fresh ginger

Handful of fresh tumeric

1 habanero or less to begin (hot!!)

1 cucumber

1 bunch celery

1 punch parsley

1 bunch of cilantro

Handful of mint

Healthy greens of choice.

Optional:  dandelion greens, black kale, arugula, spinach, Swiss chard, other greens.

In my most recent post I talked about a few of the YouTube channels that I often turn to whether I have questions about juicing, or just want a new recipe.

https://www.facebook.com/annataylormusicangel/
...

I have one of these channels to thank for my latest (and most courageous) juice recipe that I recently made. This recipe comes courtesy of Dan The Man McDonald's Liferegenerator YouTube account.

Actually, this recipe is something Lou Corona introduced to DTM. I don't know a whole lot about this Lou Corona fellow, but I do know that he's someone that DTM highly regards, and he's served as somewhat of a mentor to DTM.
...

I also know that he's been eating a clean, living, raw food diet for almost forty years, and, although he is 60 years old, he looks like he's in his thirties, and from other videos I've seen, he looks to be in better shape than most 21 year olds.

Anyways, I'll go ahead and introduce the recipe for Lou Corona's Lemon Ginger Blast, as well as the video of it that I came across (this is one of DTM's most popular videos and it has over 100,000 views on YouTube.)

Lou Corona's Lemon Ginger Blast

    2 apples
    1-3 inch piece of ginger
1 lemon (peel it if it isn't organic)
    1 bunch cilantro
    1 bunch parsley
    1 bunch arugula
    3 habaneros
    1 cucumber

Although this is the recipe stated underneath the video, I decided to make a few minor changes of my own. First, thanks to previous juicing experience I know that parsley and cilantro can be very strong so I decided to cut it back to about half a bunch of each.

Arugula is something I've never juiced but I know that it has a strong, peppery taste, and the only arugula I could find was the packaged stuff so I used one large handful of baby arugula. I kept everything else the same, except for the habaneros.

The recipe states that three should be used, but luckily I read some of the comments first and decided it would be best to start with just one. I'm sure glad I did because that juice was spicy! And I like spicy foods. I think I had the same reaction that Lou had after his first gulp around the 8:15 mark.

My guess is that it would probably be spicy even without the habanero. If you don't tolerate the heat very well then I'd start off with a milder pepper (jalapeno for example,) or maybe only a piece of one and build your way up. If it isn't hot enough then you can always add more, but you can't take any out.

I also think that there's normally celery in the juice as well, because I heard Lou mention that in the video, but the recipe doesn't say anything about it (I think DTM forgot and left it out,) so next time I make this I'll throw some celery in as well.

The leaves of the aloe are fleshy. For example, if you break open one of the leaves of an aloe vera plant, it will ooze its valued clear gel. Agaves, by contrast, are more fibrous. One variety of agave, the sisal plant, is cultivated for its fibers, which are turned into cord and rope. Toxicity. Agave has a toxic sap that immediately causes pain and burning upon contact with skin. If ingested, the saponin in the agave plant can have serious consequences including kidney and liver damage.

The North Node in 7th House is also known as Dragon’s Head in the Seventh House and Dragon’s Tail in the First House. The traditional interpretation of North Node in 7th House is good luck in marriage and partnership.

It also means an important role for nieces, nephews, and children (especially the second child).  Conversely, it can also signify a troubled early life.

Marriage and partnership may not have been comfortable for you at first.  Lifetimes of individual achievement and independence make it more natural for you to go it alone and value your unique identity.  You may be divorced or separated.  Perhaps you have never married, because of your tendency to remain apart.

However, as reluctant as you may be or have been to commit to another, marriage and partnership are part of your spiritual journey.  You are here in this lifetime to learn to give with the whole heart, asking nothing of others in return.

If you have not been successful in your relationships, most likely you were falling back on the old habit of trying to just get by.  You may have most likely not been doing the minimum to keep a partner around.   Put the needs of others first and you will be amazed at how the universe supports you.

You had many incarnations as a loner.  You came into this world with a pioneer spirit.  This may be seen by others as a sense of embattlement.  Some will perceive you as disloyal since you are so reluctant to invest in your relationships.

However, as you grow in your spiritual development, you will find within yourself an amazing ability to give self-confidence to others.   Martin Schulman attributes to natives with North Node in the 7th House an ability to “give others the will where there was none” and to make them aware of their own self-worth.

You may wonder how to begin your journey of putting others first.  It starts with developing the habit of detaching from yourself and recognizing the egoistic ways of your past (either previous lifetimes or childhood).

You will soon learn the rewards of focusing your energy on someone other than yourself.  As you take the emphasis off you and put it on the other, the habits of kindness and understanding will develop naturally.

These behaviors will help you formulate appropriate goals for your relationships.  Donna van Toen sees as the major issue for natives with the North Node in 7th House:  “This person is torn between involvement at any cost and preservation of his or her highly comfortable image of self as a good or beautiful person.”

The core issue for you is the right balance between self and others.  As you reach for your North Node, strive to be sure that every arrangement is a win-win.  Both sides should benefit from any bargain.  Check your tendency to assert yourself at all times.

I rarely recommend books because I have to really FEEL them to do so but here’s what I am delighted to say about Untamed by Glennon Doyle because it is THAT good! I couldn't wait to read this book and I LOVED it from the first few pages. I would even say it's my favourite book in MANY years. It's moving and profound, full of truth, beauty and wisdom -- and funny, too! Glennon has clearly poured her heart and soul into this book. Each page feels personal and the amazing thing about that is I felt like she was talking directly to me! As a sensitive, deeply feeling woman who has often felt misunderstood, that is a much-needed and rare gift. This book has inspired me creatively and personally and reminded me that I, too, can live my most true and beautiful life. I have already recommended this book to several of my friends and now I absolutely recommend it to you my beautiful community here. It’s a must-read. Thank you Glennon, for being you and for writing this incredible book. You are a beautiful person who makes more of a difference than you will ever know. Famous people who share the North Node in 7th House placement are Malcolm X, Barack Obama, the current Dalai Lama, Jackie Kennedy, and Woodrow Wilson.  All of these luminaries are known for their autonomy, but also a great deal of charm.

Permanent relationships require tact, diplomacy, strategy, and above all fair dealing.  Obligations, limitations, and even boredom are part and parcel of long-term commitments to others.

However, as you compromise and cooperate with partners you will find that your investment is more than returned.   Most partners look for reciprocity.  You will find much more than that with your North Node in 7th House.

Aloidendron dichotomum, formerly Aloe dichotoma, the quiver tree or kokerboom, is a tall, branching species of succulent plant, indigenous to Southern Africa. Of the large tree Aloes, Aloe dichotoma is my favorite. This Aloe is from Southern Africa in region called Namaqualand. It grows in semi-desert and desert areas.

Walt Disney was famous for this practice. That’s one reason why the Disney parks today are still models of cleanliness and a top-notch consumer experience. It will also help you determine where to place your facility or park trash cans based on guest behavior, not based on where they are easiest to empty.

This will save you money and resources by installing the trash receptacles right the first time instead of guessing where to put them and adjusting later. Areas you may want to monitor for litter build up include:

Transition Points: When guests move from one area to another, they usually bring trash along. Place commercial garbage cans at transition points like train and bus stops, shopping malls, food vendors, and building entrances.

Intersections and Crosswalks: The Project for Public Spaces recommends 2-4 waste receptacles per block in a downtown area, with one by the crosswalk at the end of the block, and another in the middle of the block by any existing benches.

The San Francisco Better Streets project recommends that commercial trash cans are as close to corners as possible and “located near high activity generators such as major civic and commercial and transit destinations.”

Near Seating: Guests looking for a place to eat or smoke usually gather at picnic tables and park benches. If you don’t have enough commercial trash receptacles installed in these areas, you will find these tables and benches covered with litter—not exactly the best welcome for the next guests who wander in.

The Palos Verdes blue is a small endangered butterfly native to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwest Los Angeles County, California, United States. As its distribution has been proven to be limited to one single site it has one of the best claims to being the world's rarest butterfly.

After you monitor the habits and traffic of guests at your facility, it’s time to space out your commercial trash receptacle installation. As we indicated, Walt Disney was not only a great animator, but as the developer of his famous theme parks, he became the master of commercial garbage can placement.

His top goal was to keep Disneyland looking spotless. He continually researched activity in his park and found that keeping trash receptacles no more than 25 feet apart was the optimum distance to deter littering. Disney even created the trash receptacles that empty from the bottom so you never see a maintenance worker emptying the trash.

Agave is a genus of monocots native to the hot and arid regions of the Americas, although some Agave species are also native to tropical areas of South America. The genus Agave is primarily known for its succulent and xerophytic species that typically form large rosettes of strong, fleshy leaves.

Do you want to learn how to make your own homemade orchid potting mix? As a new orchid enthusiast, you might be repotting because you've purchased a new plant from the store, or it's that time of year when you need to refresh the growing medium of the orchids in your care. Orchids are generally repotted in fresh growing medium every 1 to 2 years.

The signs that you need to repot are when: Your potting media are breaking down or decomposing. Roots are overgrown. Your plant is getting too big for its container. The roots are starting to rot or become diseased. If any of the above happen, you will need a new container (or sterilize the existing one) and change out your potting medium.

There are two ways that you can get new potting mix. You can either 1) buy it ready-made from the store, or 2) DIY your own. It's easy to buy a mix from the orchid nursery or gardening shops. Simply tell them what orchid variety you have and buy the best media for that. At some point though, you'll be wanting to make your own.

Here's our step-by-step tutorial on how to make your own potting medium, specifically, bark mix. But first, let's ensure you know your basics. Orchids are different from regular plants in that they don't need soil.

Instead, they need good air flow and drainage. This is where potting mixes come in. A good potting media should: Retain moisture. Drain rapidly. Provide good circulation.

It's important to find the best medium for your orchid because it will:  Determine how much airflow your plant will get. Determine how much and how often you need to water. Directly affect the health of your plant.

The thing about potting media is finding the best mix for your plant. There is NO one combination that works best for every orchid variety or grower. You'll have to experiment to find out what works best for you and your plants and actually that's part of the fun.

Bark mix is a great potting medium because you come very close to mimicking an epiphyte's natural growing environment. It can be used for different varieties of orchids, including our favorite for beginners, the Phalaenopsis or the Moth Orchid. Here are some common materials that you can use to make bark mix:

Fir Bark - Fir bark comes in three grades: fine, medium and coarse. Finer bark holds more moisture and dries more slowly. Coarser bark lets in more air and dries faster.  It is easy to get and cheap. However, it resists water at first and decomposes rather fast compared to others.

Tree Fern - Tree fern is also available in grades. It drains fast and it is slow to decompose. However, it is expensive and has low ability to retain moisture.

Sphagnum Moss - Also called peat moss, sphagnum moss is recommended for terrestrial mixes. It is easy to get and it retains air and water. You have to watch out though because it can retain too much water if packed too tightly.

Perlite - At first glance, perlite looks like bits of styrofoam. Believe it or not though, it's actually volcanic glass, hence the name, volcanic popcorn. Because it is porous, it stores nutrients and moisture very well and yet drains excess moisture too.

It is lightweight, non-toxic, free from disease, and inexpensive to boot. It can't be used alone though as it has a tendency to retain too much water. Coco husk chips - Coconut husk chips are a good absorbent medium and decompose slowly. However, they don't drain as well as coco husk chunks or bark.

For most of us, the first thing that comes to mind when we hear the word “licorice” likely isn’t the root of the Glycyrrhiza glabra plant, nor its long history of medicinal use and health benefits. Instead, our first thought is probably of candy.

So it may come as a surprise that most commercial brands of licorice confections today contain none of this sweet medicinal root. But licorice’s medicinal and culinary history does include candy.  The root’s compound glycyrrhizin is 50 times sweeter than sugar and has been used to make confections designed to aid digestion and soothe sore throats.

It’s also useful in treating ulcers and other digestive complains. However, there is reason to use caution with this herb. Long-term high levels of consumption have been tied to health conditions, including the raising of blood pressure; a drop in potassium to dangerous levels; and hormonal changes.

Licorice comprises about 20 species of sticky, sometimes hairy perennial herbs with creeping rootstalk. One of the most common types used medicinally is Glycyrrhiza glabra (glykys, the Greek word for “sweet,” rhiza for “root,” and glabra from the Latin for “smooth”).

I received this beautiful gift of artwork by @consuelo.verona in the mail from one of my beautiful clients in Europe! I feel so blessed to be able to offer my psychic channeling gifts all over the world and in person here in the Gold Coast, wow!  https://www.facebook.com/beccluminary/photos/a.433077183466680/2772997229474652/?type=3&theater
...

It is native to dry scrubland or damp ditches in the Mediterranean region and southwestern Asia. Three to five feet tall, licorice plants can be identified by their alternate, pinnately compound leaves; pealike flowers in colors ranging from violet to pale blue that bloom in late summer; and fuzzy stems and leaf stalks. Their fruits appear in the form of leathery or prickly oblong seed pods containing two to five seeds each.

Licorice has been used in medicine since antiquity. The ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus reported on the use of the root to treat respiratory disorders. The Chinese have used the roots of G. glabra and G. uralensis to treat a wide range of illnesses; Chinese herbalists include licorice in many formulations, believing that it reduces the toxicity of certain other ingredients.

Native Americans and early European settlers used the native G. lepidota to bring on menstrual periods; expel the placenta following childbirth; and relieve earache, toothache and fever.

Licorice has also been used to treat sore throat, urinary tract infections, stomach ulcers, constipation and Addison’s disease — a disorder marked by insufficient secretion of hormones of the adrenal cortex. Externally, licorice has been used to soothe irritated skin.

Research has shown licorice’s potential to relieve inflammation associated with eczema, and to inhibit the growth of bacteria — including drug-resistant strains — and viruses.

Some components of licorice have also shown estrogen-like activity. Preliminary research suggests the potential ability of licorice to reduce hot flashes brought on by menopause.

One Japanese study showed that a preparation including licorice extract stimulated normal ovulation in women with infrequent menstrual periods. Other potential medicinal uses for licorice include the treatment of peptic ulcers, and the treatment of hepatitis B and C. It is also traditionally used for upper respiratory infections such as coughs, asthma and sore throats, and as a laxative.

GIA LAI — Phạm Thị Thu Hiền, 37, starts her day by grabbing her backpack before trekking through dozens of kilometres of forest with her colleagues.

Hiền is the only female forest ranger in the province, and patrols Kon Ka Kinh National Park in Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province. She was born and grew up in Đak Hlơ Commune, Kbang District. After graduating from high school, she entered medical school following her parents’ wishes.

It transpired a medical career was not for her, so she quit school and entered the Central Highlands Forestry College hoping to become a forest ranger.

Hiền graduated in 2008 and started work as an office worker for the Forest Management Unit at Kon Ka King National Park. Eight years later, she was assigned to join a patrol team protecting thousands of hectares of forest. After days and nights on duty in the forest, she met Huỳnh Ngọc Thành, also a forest ranger, and married him.

However, Thành died in a traffic accident when their child was only three years old. “I promised myself that I would spend the rest of my life protecting the forest,” said Hiền.

She asked her mother to look after the baby and started living in the office in case there was an emergency. She goes home at weekends, which is 70km from the national park.

After a long day at work, she calls home to ask her son about school. Once her son had high temperature, so she had to rush back at night. Despite these difficulties, Hiền has never been discouraged, and never thinks about quitting her job.

“My wish is to be close to my colleagues every day to go on patrol and protect the forest,” she said. Hiền added that her colleagues and leaders always supported her and helped her fulfill her mission.

“One special thing is that locals consider us family members and work with us to protect the forest,” said Hiền. Nguyễn Văn Hoan, director of Kon Ka Kinh National Park, said Hiền had passion for the career. The career had a lot of risks requiring workers to spend many nights in the forest, but Hiền was always ready for her duty, he said. — VNS

Why aren’t there more green butterflies? Green butterflies (and moths) are rare across the globe, but why? Entomologist, and BBC Wildlife contributor, Richard Jones answers your wild question.

Most ‘natural’ green insect pigments (in grasshoppers and plant bugs, for example) tend to fade, since they are chemically altered by light, and there is evidence that some are derived from chlorophyll eaten by the insects.

The green of the hairstreak, though, is not a pigment, but a metallic refraction effect caused by submicroscopic parallel grooves on the wing scales, which reflect only green light. Metallic green beetles use a similar mechanism.

In contrast, melanin (the default pigment across most animals) is highly stable, as are yellow and red pigments, which occur widely. There may be an evolutionary mechanism at work here.

Sedentary butterfly (and moth) larvae tend to eat green plants, and being all the same colour – as the caterpillars of many groups are – offers them camouflage.

But the day-flying adults need to combine bright colours (for mate recognition) with muted cryptic undersides (to hide or roost), so in this case green just may not be necessary.

https://www.discoverwildlife.com/animal-facts/insects-invertebrates/why-arent-there-more-green-butterflies/

Whenever an animal shows up repetitively, take this as a sign from the universe telling you to keep your focus on areas of personal growth. Animal guides serve as messengers delivering important lessons to you from beyond the veil, and they can also reassure you that you have taken the right path in life.

The butterfly symbolizes great transformation and personal growth, so seeing these creatures often calls you to look within at areas that you can improve upon.

Butterflies encourage you to pay attention to your cycles of growth, and to really question what parts of your personality could use a fresh start.

This spirit animal also urges you to approach life with grace and lightheartedness, and to not shy away from a metamorphosis if your soul needs it. If you see butterflies often, they want you to receive the following important spiritual messages.

Butterflies have been associated with the transition between one lifestyle, personality, or journey into another. If you have been going through a major life change, you might spot more butterflies than normal as they accompany you on your journey and encourage you that everything will turn out okay if you take the leap of faith with grace and bravery.

Also, the butterfly might want you to look more within to see if you have a different perspective than you used to. Maybe you have started to become more aware of your thinking patterns and personal beliefs, and have begun to shift internally.

The butterfly represents transformation both within and without, so even if you haven’t undergone big life changes, you might have a lot going on in your heart that needs some attention.

Butterflies represent the ability to look at life in a carefree, lighthearted way. Maybe you have recently gone through a hard time and have carried a heavy vibration because of it. The butterfly invites you to look at the situation in a lighter way, and to figure out how to transform the darkness into something you can use for growth.

Also, butterflies generally have bright, vibrant colors, so they show us the beauty of life when we live it fully. Maybe you already live your life this way, but if not, the butterfly invites you to fully take in each day, and not take any time on this Earth for granted.

Different areas of the world interpret butterfly symbolism differently. For example, in Chinese culture, it can represent immortality. For the Japanese, a white butterfly represents the souls of the deceased. In Ancient Greece, butterflies represent the psyche or soul.

A Maya woman wears traditional dress, including tocoyal (headdress)
...

You might resonate with any of these meanings, but most importantly, use the butterfly as a way to get in touch with your higher self, and don’t become attached to any one way of thinking about them.

Use the butterfly spirit animal during times of transition in your life. Call upon one of these graceful creatures when you sense a changing perspective about life, or when you have begun a transformation in your outer world. Also, if you feel stifled in life and need a way to open yourself up again, rely on the butterfly for greater creativity, self-expression, and vitality.

As with any other animal totem, butterflies will show up the moment you need a sign from beyond, and will guide you to continue down the right path in life.

The butterfly represents a variety of different meanings and perspectives, so no matter if you feel the need to transform in a certain way, change your perspective about life, or increase your self-expression, the butterfly can accompany you and provide some support along the way.

That altar made of grey rock standed on my way to work. There was some symbols carved on every side of it but I did not know what they meant.

Altar was on the side of the path which I walked every morning. It was hardly seeable because of trees and bushes. Some moss grew above the altar and autumn brought some leafs on it.

On the other day I saw something above altar.. a mango?  -hmm I peeked all the ways and wondered why there was a mango and who left it. I was hungry anyways so I ate it  -shrug

I did not thought about it before next morning there was raspberries. I ate them too but I decided that I would come early next morning to stalk who is leaving food to me. Raspberries were fresh so I would know that person would leave them on the altar erarly in the morning. -nerd

The Palos Verdes blue is a small endangered butterfly native to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwest Los Angeles County, California, United States. As its distribution has been proven to be limited to one single site it has one of the best claims to being the world's rarest butterfly.

I packed my sleeping bag, a lantern and a book to read and I hided myself behind the altar waiting. But I felt sleep and there was a carrot on the altar  -shock What on the Earth, food fairy changed sweets to vegetables! I ate the carrot and went to work.

Next morning I was waiting on the altar again and I swore to stay awake! I would know that person to come for sure so I would not fell to sleep anymore. I was like a teenager again, butterflies all over and like going on my first dates.

Then I heard steps. I thought there could be a cantaloupe coming and it would roll straight to my head so I hitted the altar to make some noice to be noticed.

- Oh, she said, are you homeless?

 - Not for long anymore because you are here  :D

- Is that you who eats all the foods?

- Yes, look at this guilty stomach (I lift the shirt up to prove that)

- Oh, I can see, she said. She left the blackberries on the altar and touched my stomach on the right and left. - There is a mango I brought, and there is raspberries, Her hair flew to my face.
I had to place my hand to her hand and she smiled.

- Are you going to show where is place to blackberries? she asked.
