Ngannou learned an essential lesson in his first loss as a UFC fighter

That lesson was, if your initial plan doesn't work, you better have a backup plan.

That backup plan was something Ngannou didn't need in his first six forays into the octagon where he stopped each of his opponents in two rounds or less.

He relied on his superhuman striking power to end all but one of those fights.

Miocic planned well for Ngannou.

He knew the Cameroonian fighter believed he possessed some type of death touch in his hands, so Miocic did his best to avoid his opponent's power early in the hope he could sap Ngannou's energy and take him into uncharted territory.

Miocic did NOT Respect Cormier at ALL! Wellp. That's what happens Oo
